FAMILY ROAD TRIP

We had been planning to go on a family trip for months. It has been a tough and wonderful year for all of us. My son was born and became the bright sunshine in our lives. Three weeks after my son was born my dad died suddenly of a heart attack. When someone in your life passes away all kinds of emotions surround the event. Traumatic events lead to learning your true blessings in life. Learning who you can count on and who you should let go of is a blessing. I am so thankful for my perfectly timed little boy who is the bright spot in all our our lives. Life is too short to spend it negative or in a state of worry. Thus our plans for vacation!

We had the most wonderful time. My husband, mom, sister, sister's boyfriend, and my little man took a rented RV from Indiana to South Carolina. We made it to the ocean and back! We were able to take our time and be relaxed. The drive to South Carolina through the mountains in the spring is perfect. Little man saw the ocean for the first time.

We went to an aquarium, shopping, local seafood, beautiful lake and camping all before making it to the ocean where the real fun and relaxation began. We toured a light house and nature center and relaxed on the beach for days.

It may have been the best family vacation we have ever taken. I truly believe it was yet another turning point in this year of changes and this trip pointed us in a positive and beautiful direction.

I am excited to announce we have unpacked all our boxes from the move and we are ready to start the renovations!
Stay tuned for my next post on the demolition projects that have happened back at our house!!!

Easter: 1st Holiday in Our New Home

Spring is HERE!!!!

A week after we moved in we left for a week long vacation to South Carolina that we had planned months before we knew about the move. (it was amazing....more on that later) We returned home the day before Easter and had a very fun, low key beautiful holiday. My mom, sister & sister's boyfriend were with us for the day.

Little Man was TIRED of Pictures!

I thought I would show a 360 of the outside of our home first. We are in the process of clearing out the fallen leaves & preparing the landscape for Spring. We do not have any extensive renovations planned right away for the exterior of our home because we want to get the interior how we want it first. (***I apologize for the poor photo quality! I am working on that!)

Outside TOUR:

The front: there is a long porch on 2 sides which was what I fell in love with first.

Double front door & my old bird bath made the move!

Garage Side

This is one of my favorite things about the house. That old screen door is in the master bedroom and leads out onto the porch. Normally I would be freaked out with an exterior door in my bedroom but we live in the country so I feel safe about it. Plus it's cute!

View from the side porch:this rickety old bench was here when we moved in. Be still my heart!

Back of the house: I love that it walks out from our basement. We have hopes to build a great deck here in the very far off future.

I love our yard & the privacy of being in the trees. When we were house shopping the snow was about 5 feet high so we were not quite sure what the yard even looked like!

My first spring flowers have arrived. It is so fun not knowing what is planted in the yard and being surprised daily with what is budding and blooming!

Thank you for stopping by! Can't wait to get organized & start our lists of projects! Stay tuned for inside before/after pictures and renovations!

New Address...New Adventure...Home Cute Home

We have relocated to Indiana after a 2 year "vacation" in the South!

Husband has been promoted within his company once again and another journey has begun for our little family. We have returned to the Hoosier state where we met with our now 10 month old son. We are happy to be back and ready to see where this crazy life takes us!

With my love for collecting all things eclectic, vintage and country along with Husband's love tolerance of my 'honey do list' we are embarking on another home makeover journey.

We recently purchased a home in rural Indiana. We have wanted to live in the country for as long as we have been together. We feel so blessed to finally be there! I will be documenting how we turn our house into our vision of our country dream home. We welcome you to come on our new journey from house to home.
